Compared with conventional CNC machining processes, the key advantages of mill-turn machining are mainly reflected in the following aspects:

(1) Shortening the product manufacturing process chain and improving production efficiency. Mill-turn machining can complete all or most of the machining processes in one setup, thus greatly shortening the product manufacturing process chain. This reduces production auxiliary time caused by changes in setup, as well as tooling manufacturing cycle and waiting time, significantly improving production efficiency.

(2) Reducing the number of setups and improving machining accuracy. Reducing the number of setups avoids error accumulation caused by changes in positioning references. At the same time, most mill-turn machining equipment has online detection capabilities, enabling in-situ detection and accuracy control of key data in the manufacturing process, thereby improving product machining accuracy.

(3) Reducing floor space and lowering production costs. Although the unit price of mill-turn machining equipment is relatively high, the shortened manufacturing process chain, reduced equipment requirements, and decreased tooling, workshop floor space, and equipment maintenance costs effectively reduce overall fixed asset investment, production operation, and management costs.
