Defined Retaining-Ring Seats
An annular circlip groove provides a positive seating feature for a specified retaining ring. Where a ring limits axial movement of an adjoining component, the groove establishes its seating position rather than relying on friction against an unfeatured cylindrical surface.
Two-Sided V-Groove Location
A V-shaped groove presents two angled contact faces to a matching guide or round locating element. Under a load directed into the groove, the paired faces provide a defined lateral location rather than allowing the element to rest anywhere across a flat support surface.
Controlled Seal Recess Depth
Groove depth is machined to ±0.02 mm, with width controlled to ±0.03 mm. In a seal recess, these dimensions limit variation in the available space for the specified sealing element; seal selection and the mating assembly establish the required compression.

- Material inspection checks the grade, hardness and blank condition before machining. Production instructions identify the applicable groove section and part reference so that a visually similar channel is not accepted in place of the specified profile.
- First-article checks cover the complete section, including root transitions and its location on the body. Process sampling monitors the dimensions as the forming cutter wears, while visual inspection checks channel edges and the groove floor for remaining machining debris.
- Finished components receive 100% appearance and key-dimension inspection before packing. Results are retained against the part and order, and third-party inspection is accepted for the completed lot.
